All eyes on you

All eyes on you

Walt Disney once said that animations are the most versatile and direct form of communication, since they can represent anything the human mind can imagine. Numerous studies show that videos are more effective, clickable, shareable and engaging compared to images. If you’re not convinced, feel free to ask us about some research and stats we gathered.

Process

01. Animatic02. Previz + Keyframes03. Final

01. Animatic

First step is layout animation called an animatic. In this step we prepare animation without the materials - to decide the movement of the camera and lengths of the shots. Also, here is the part, when we give you the mood & movement references for each scene.

02. Previz + Keyframes

A previz is a low-quality render (500 px) that shows the final movement of the camera in color. Since it’s hard to see details on a pre-vis, we also deliver a final quality keyframe for each shot. This means that you can see the light setting, final materials, assets and people. All changes that are required are discussed on keyframes.

03. Final

When all keyframes are accepted, we render the whole animation in the final resolution. There is no room for changing anything in 3D at this stage, so it’s very important to have everything accepted at the previous stages. We add postproduction according to what was agreed on keyframes and deliver the final real estate animation!

FAQ

Everything obviously depends on the complexity, length and effort that it takes to develop the animation. A typical 60 second animation takes 3-4 weeks to develop.

The sooner we know, the better we can prepare the team, start working on the environments and align in terms of moodboard and expected look and feel. Two weeks, however, should normally work to book a project. If it's a last minute thing, we will always look at ways to deliver a quality product, but shorter or less complex (with less animated elements, for example).

An animation costs anywhere between $150 - $450 per second. Everything depends on the technique used, the complexity of the scene time we have to develop the animation.

Yes, typically we export multiple variants of the animation so that you can reuse the content across various platforms and make the most of your new animation. Typically, the scope also includes still images (keyframes) from the animation.
